i know roughly how to do it
but never done it
is it hard to do properly or is it worth paying a bit extra for someone else to do it?

take your time... and ask alot of questions, its a lot easier than most would have you believe, i did use my local engineers for any accurate measuring and stuff though, i guess i'll know before long if i put it together properly (and buy a hayne, if you haven't already)

its very straight forward....
Just strip everything down....
Put parts into labled bags (numbering valves etc so you put it together in the right sequence)
Replace anything that is worn outwith tolerances or is visably 'had it'
WHY is it needing a rebuild?
Maybe just replace
piston rings (re hone the bores)
big end bearings
stem seals
gasket set (metal HG)

yeah it needs new stem seals
and piston rings
so i want to re- build it
with lighten and balenced bottom end
pocketed pistons maybbe if i need em
new bearings and seals
arp rob bolts
uprated gasket set
better lifters,
maybe valves, and springs,
new cams,
port and polish head,
lighten balence flywheel
and sbd uprated timing gear
