just wondering if anyone could tell me, am i right in thinking that i could do a straight swap: x16xe in place of my x14xe?, do they use the same sensors, ecu etc? i understand tht mountings an that are the same as its the same engine with larger internals etc but just wondered about sensors. also if i were to buy a reconditioned engine from vpsc.co.uk or vauxhallbreakers.com etc would i just literally get the bottom end and head with internals and need cambelt, tensioners etc?? cheers for any avice anyone can give me,

ECU maps are different, rest is all a straight swap

so would it run fine if i keep my x14xe ecu etc if i just get the ecu re-mapped an chipped to get potential out of the x16xe?

get a remap or a 1.6 ecu, it will run but at lower power with 1.4 ecu

ecu will depend on the year. later ecu's were the same as the 1.6 16v ecu's.
