Got a 4.18 FD yesturday from an old Nova with an F10 gearbox, and today I began to strip down my car to change the FD in what i thought was my F13 CR box as i've got a c14se engine (1.4 8v SRi) as I get the gear cassette out I find that the pinion cog cannot be removed from the shaft, and on further inspection i find that i actually have a F15 box,
So as i need to use the car I had to start putting everything back together and it is all back together now.
What i need to know is the what is the best way for me to change the final drive on the F15 with the pinion on the shaft. I assume by best option is to get a F13 CR box and replace the F15 with it?

replacing with f13cr box would be the easiest way.
Otherwise you need to find a 4.18 for the F15!

Of course you can you just change the complete pinion shaft no different to changing the final drive in a ford box!

you can do the FD in an f15 but you would need to strip the complete box assembly to replace it with an f13 pinion shaft.
best to get a f13cr and use that for the FD swap.
