had this problem for a while but in the last week or so its got 10 times worse
sometimes when i start the car it splutters and the is no power until ive left it for about 10-15 seconds maybe, then it will be ok for a while but every now and then when i put my foot down at a junction or something the car either stalls or has no power then picks back up again or i just have too wait for it too stop spluttring befor i let the clutch out so i can go again
also when ive ben for a drive and i park up after its been spluttering e.t.c. it takes about a minute of turning over for the car too start and the when it does it revs its ball off 
its a 1.2 8v btw

Have you checked all vacuum hoses?

loose wiring?
mine kept cutting out/starting straight away without using ignition when booting it. turned out there was a loose bullet connector connecting a wire from my ecu etc so when the engine moved it pulled them apart.
plugged them togeter - insulation tape - job done.
