do they not have the plate where it removes from the bottom?

never done one, nobody would put one into vauxhall to get done

you should ahve the quick release clutch, if not then it will take about 3 hours or less for a skilled tech, for someone doing it on there drive i'd say best part of the day, would have to remove gearbox completely from car if it dont ahve a quick release clutch.

Have a look under the gearbox for a access panel. Its likely to have one, most 1.2s did.
