Went to view a local corsa for sale tonight.
Low miles, Full MOT, 1.2 5door. £500
Only problem is that it was slightly tapping on odd occasions, and the owner said it was due to just the 1tappet.
Is this a big problem? that can escalate into a bigger problem?not sure if its worth the gamble.

tappets arn't normally something to worry about if im honest mate

your completely wrong there! the valves wont open if the tappets dont fill up with oil quick enought, easy enough job to change if their hydraulic on them engines?

well i've always had noisy tappets and they haven't caused me a problem on any of my cars

why would you want noisey tappets? there noisey for a reason, genraly means there fuked

If its only tapping sometimes then it will most likely be getting stuck.

aye its only one tappet thats getting stuck by the sounds.. but just wondered if its was a big problem or if it can be used like that daily with no problemes or future problems.
ill stay away just in case anyway; cheers guys

Doubt it. If it was getting stuck it would stop a valve from opening or closing and make the engine run like a bag of shite.
