My central locking on my 5 door unclocks and locks the boot, however my batteries flat and i need to get into the boot to get some stuff out

But when i put the key in the boot lock, it just spins and doesnt unlock, do they all do this? seems pointless having a key hole if they do, or is it a fucked lock?

Help appreciated

turn the key and hold it in the lock and it should open

either that or fold your seats down maybe?? till you sort out your battery
