Firefox is starting to do my head in, mines crashing all the time. Probably some little shitty add-on or plugin that i've installed and forgotton about causing it!

Try emptying temporary Internet files/cookies/history etc. see if it still does it then.
Of course, you might have a trojan virus on your computer?

did a scan on friday and came back with nothing then realised today that i havent updated it for a while jumped from 3269 version to 36something. currently got 6 infected files

well i meant my malwarebytes hasnt been updated for time.
but yes firefox isint as amazing to me anymore. at least its still better than ie8

I used to love firefox but got sick of it slowing down and ram usage been 500mb etc also sick of the constant updates.

I really like Firefox. It's more cusomizable than IE which is my only real reason for using such tool.

Firefox 4 beta is out, if you have problems with the 3.x might want to try it.
It is a beta though, so it might give a few bugs - although it's been fine for me so far. Seems quite a bit faster too.

Firefox is a nasty peice of programming that the developers can't be fucked to create an MSI to deploy it to large networks with.
