Yeah second this. Did it once when it was turned of and it wouldn't start after. I spray/ brush the cleaning solution on, start it up then power wash it of.

Well guys i washed this engine bay today and it came up alot nicer. Firstly i warmed up the engine and then i turned it off. I put a tesco bag over the battery also lol i sprayed on the Gunk degreeser which was like a foam, then sprayed on engine cleaner and got my little brush out and rubbed everything down. Then did the underside of the bonnet aswell and then sprayed it off with a hose! then did it two times over again and washed off. Dryed the engine bay with a microfibre and then took some speed detailer and sprayed some on some parts. Looks 10x better!! Will take a photo soon

Personally I'd soak the greasy bits in de-greaser a few times, make sure the engine runs and keep it running. Pressure wash the block and keep away from all wiring, turn the engine off and do the rest with rags etc.
