As the subject line suggest - iTunes is shit.

I want to put "Guns N Roses - Use Your Illusion II" on my iPod touch, so I plug it in, make sure the id3 tags are ok in ID3-TagIT, whack it onto iTunes, and, wtf, it's kept two of the songs fine, but the rest of the album now shows as being from a album called "Use Your Illusion 2" (rather than II) and now are in seperate folders.
None of the id3 tags I can edit (in Winamp or ID3-TagIT) show that so where the fuck is iTunes getting it from and how can I manually change it so it stops breaking up the album?

Files in folder - note album name is all the same - Use Your Illusion II

Whack it into iTunes, and look at the highlighted album title:

How? Why? Gay!

Make sure you have backed up your music (just in case), uninstall and install Winamp. Works fine with iPods/iTouch and it doesn't mess around with your music (+ you can edit ID3 Tags if need be)

Stop using external software and just go into the info for each song in iTunes nd edit the details there... make sure you then "import" the song again and delete the old version

iTunes gets confused when you try and modify the file from outside of iTunes

If iTunes didn't try and take over you whole system, your music collection and have a mind of it's own on what it does with both then there wouldn't be any problems!
And what a bodge that you have to edit each music file, then re-import it and the delete the old version! Decent players just have a refresh option and don't throw a wobbler if you used a ID3 Tag editor!

Plus there's a load of features missing from "All-in-one" solution for your iPod/iPhone/iPod Touch - like being able to individually download and upload photos without the whole lot being sync'd. Instead you have to use external software! What a crock of shite!

Edit the track in iTunes and not WinAMP and see if that stops it doing it? With ID3, ID3v2 and whatever iTunes uses for the extra information, it might be reading a different version than WinAMP is writing.

I never re-imported them Dom/Robbo so stop your bickering before I come over there and put you both across my knee - yes that's right - BOTH OF YOU!

OK, now that's cleared up, videos onto iPods (touch), what types does it support?
