Right, my EGR valve has been cleaned once and now its messed up again and I want to blank it off because the bloody thing is just becoming a pain in the ass!
I need some information before I do it.
The engine is an x14xe 98 model!
How much does it affect the emissions?
Do you need a fully working EGR to blank it off or can you just blank it and plug it back in?
What metal do I use to make the blanking gasket?
How will it affect the car generally?

Any info is appreciated, thank you

Not much at all, will still pas a British MOT

As long as the plunger moves it will be fine, Clean it all out and it should start moving again.

I used a coke can. Put it in double thick just to be sure.

You won't notice anything, theoretically it should run better as getting more oxygen.

Richardhha sells blanking plates, there £3.99 and 70p p&p.

When you blank it off you obv put the blanking plate over the hole where the EGR valve goes. Leave the EGR valve plugged in and cable tie it up somewhere.

Overwise the EML will be on constantly.

Im not sure about emissions but im sure someone else can advise you on them
