I got a mates phone sent over from UK to here in Australia after being told it was unlocked. It turns out its still locked to Orange. Gay.

Ive tried a Cydia app call SAMprefs and ultrasn0w but still no joy.

Anyone any ideas??

I used GEVEY card on my Iphone 4s.

get him to contact orange. if hes upgraded they'll unlock it free/cheap

04.10.01 can't be unlocked through the Gevey sim method.

Only way is if it was his from new Orange will charge his around £15 to get it unlocked properly

i know o2 have to have the phone active on the network when the unlock request is sent, hope orange isnt the same. I had to send my old iphone 4 back to UK to unlock

vodafone didnt make me do that, mine was sat in the box when they unlocked it because id got my upgrade

i have heard of people having to buy payg sims to stick in them to get them unlocked, only from o2

yeah I had to buy a pay go sim. put £20 on it , make a call and then submit request

I unlocked mine through the O2 website and then connected to iTunes a few days later and it was done!
Don't orange do similar?
